A’Yani Roots didn’t start as a business plan. It started at home, from a mother’s desire to find a better way to care for her daughters’ hair and scalps.

My oldest struggled with painful scalp eczema, while my youngest experienced hair loss from baby balding. Many store-bought products felt either too harsh or filled with ingredients I didn’t feel comfortable using on their delicate skin. I knew there had to be a gentler, more natural approach.

So, I got to work in my kitchen.

I researched botanicals, explored organic oils, blended raw herbs traditionally used to support healthy hair and scalp care, and allowed God to guide me throughout the formulation process. Over time, I began seeing the changes I had been hoping for—my oldest daughter’s scalp improved, and my baby’s hair began growing back fuller and healthier.

That experience showed me that “Roots” means so much more than the hair on our heads.

It represents our family roots—the love, heritage, strength, and care we pass down from one generation to the next.

The name A’Yani was created by combining my daughters’ middle names, turning something deeply personal into a legacy built on love, care, and purpose.
